Origination

Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity was founded on June 12th, 1903 at the University School of Music in Ann Arbor, Michigan by our seven founders: Elizabeth Campbell, Frances Caspari, Minnie Davis Sherrill, Leila Farlin Laughlin, Nora Crane Hunt, Georgina Potts, and Mary Storrs Andersen.

Our History

The Urbana Alumnae Chapter of the Upsilon B Province was chartered on March 12th, 1949 and was installed at the University Women's Club in Urbana, Illinois. Annelle Chandler McAdams was the installing officer. There were 37 charter members.
